Hand-woven from wild milulu grass by women weavers in the Iringa region of Tanzania, dyed a deep, matte black using only natural plant pigments — no two are ever quite identical. What looks like a finishing touch is actually the whole point: every basket carries the slight irregularity of something made by hand, not stamped out of a mold.
